Lakeside Cemetery - Fairmont, MN

The Fairmont Cemetery Association was founded November 14, 1871, and is guided by a nine-member board of Trustees who are elected to a three-year term. An annual meeting is held each October for the purpose of electing trustees and transacting business.

Each person or family that owns lots, crypts, or niches in Lakeside Cemetery is a member of the association.

Lot and mausoleum sales, service fees, and donations finance the cemetery’s operations and maintenance. 20% of the lot sales are directed to the cemetery’s permanent care fund. There is a separate three-member board that oversees this fund.

Road and Major Improvement Fund

The association also has a fund set up for the purpose of improving the roads as well as other major improvements. This fund is supported by special donations and gifts received by the association.
