August 2010
It is again time for the quarterly newsletter from the central information center of Lakeside Cemetery. First, I hope you are having a pleasant hot and humid summer - this must be the reason so many of us stay here in the summer. It has been good for the turf and trees, but the wind has caused some unwanted pruning of our trees by "dear old mother nature."
We are attempting to keep the grounds as well kept as we can with the weather. If you have any complaints, contact the cemetery office 238-1932.
Some of the equipment is getting old and maintenance is a constant concern. The grass is growing at an unusually fast pace this year and keeping up with the mowing is keeping several workers busy. We are in need of some help trimming around the gravestones so if you know anyone who is interested, have them contact the cemetery office.
There are some cemetery lots for sale by members at a discount, contact the cemetery office for further information.
Our new water system is operating very well. Thanks to Beemer Well Service for doing a good job in the installation of it. As long as the lake level stays up and the algae doesn’t plug the filters, we are in good shape.
The Association is again asking for donations to the general fund to subsidize ongoing expenses. Any amount is welcome and the donation form can be found on the website.
In October look for the date and time of the annual meeting in the newspaper. We will have the opportunity to elect three trustees.
Have a good summer and fall.
